You Don't Have Time.

July 12, 2018

This is my first blog post since March 20th, 2018.  Why?  Because I don't have time.  I moved to a new town, took on a new job and new personal training clients, started new ventures and took some time off from my regularly scheduled happenings to settle in.

I'll start writing again when I have time, I told myself.

So now, 114 days later, I find myself sitting at my new kitchen table, finally back.

This morning, I told my Cyclebar class that they should stop waiting to have enough money, enough time or to be "ready" to pursue what lights a fire within them.  There will never be the perfect time, the right amount in savings or a block of time without any commitments or interruptions.  The people who are successful in their endeavors are the ones who take the leap of faith and make it work by any means necessary.  This is the attitude we should all have, whether it is about chasing a dream, bettering ourselves or just finding a better work/life balance.

Then it hit me: I could really use a dose of my own advice.  I don't have enough time, so I need to make the time.

This month, I have a group of rockstars participating in my Fit By Gab #3for31 challenge, in which we are all running at least 3 miles a day for the entire month of July.  Rain or shine, cool or humid, 5 AM or 10 PM, we are all squeezing our daily run into our busy schedules.  This challenge is one of my favorites, not just because it gets people moving daily, but because it reenforces the idea that you can make the time in your day for just about anything if you'd only choose to.

So today, at my kitchen table between conference calls, clients & classes, I have added blogging back into my daily routine.  I have a laundry list of other exciting things coming to the Fit By Gab world, and I can't wait to share them with you.

Starting now, choose to set aside the distractions and use your spare time to do something that excites you.  We waste so much precious time staring at our phones & watching TV, and then we call ourselves "too busy" to pursue our real passions.

There will never be enough time, so start making it.
